The next installment in the Modern Quilt Block Series is the Triple Third block. This block includes a few half-square triangle (HST) units in a simple way. I’m excited to dive in with you!
Triple Third
Look for color variation in your fabric choices to showcase your skills and make a stunning quilt with the Triple Third block. Including light, medium and dark fabrics in each block will help your points to stand out and your piecing to shine.
When in doubt stay in the same color family, like I have in my sample block. This is the simplest way to work within your stash and to use fabrics that you love.
The addition of the HST units does increase the skill level of this block a little, BUT I firmly believe any beginner can do it. Learning to make HST units as a beginner opens up the possibilities in your quilting many times over. It’s worth taking the time.
