This week in the Modern Quilt Block Series we are sewing up the Capital block. This block uses strips in a four-patch to add a graphic element to quilt tops. Follow along as I continue designing and sharing a new block pattern each week!

Capital

One of my favorite things to do when designing is to take away some elements and see how the shapes emerge. Assembling the units makes for an easy transition to strip-piecing, if you want to make more than one of the same block.

Take a few minutes to watch the video for my simple construction tips, and step-by-step instructions for making this unique block. And the layout options are so fun! Even on its own, this block makes some great quilt tops, and I can’t wait to see more of them in fabric!

This week the Capital block is free, next week it will be available for purchase in my shop.

Pin now, sew later

Save to your favorite quilting boards for inspiration when you need it!

I’m so glad you are here, thank you for stopping by.

I hope you have a creative week!

Amy

PS – I’d love for you to share this with your quilting friends online – thanks!
