This week in the Modern Quilt Block Series we are sewing the Scale block. This block adds movement to any quilt design, because it is so simple, it’s a great starting point for new quilters. Follow along as I continue designing and sharing a new block pattern each week!
Scale
The linear look of this block makes it a great addition to many quilt layouts, and it’s fun to sew! The block would be great in a scrappy mix of fabrics too. This version I’ve made is a jumping off point for all the creative ways you can use this block. However, be sure to test your 1/4″ seam allowance before starting. Because all the piecing is in the same direction a rectangular block is a real possibility.
