This week in the Modern Quilt Block Series we are sewing up the Stretch block. This block uses a familiar shape, and elongates it for a modern look. Follow along as I continue designing and sharing a new block pattern each week!
Stretch
One of my favorite things to do when designing is reimagining familiar shapes, in this case the 9-Patch. Assembling the block in columns, makes for an easy transition to strip-piecing, if you want to make more than one block.
Take a few minutes to watch the video for my simple construction tips, and step-by-step instructions for making this unique block. And the layout options are so fun! Even on its own, this block makes some great quilt tops, and I can’t wait to see more of them in fabric!
