This week in the Modern Quilt Block Series we are sewing a fun block called Swirl. This block includes more pieces than any of the previous blocks, BUT there are no angles to manage which makes it simple to sew.
Swirl
The color placement in this block is key for dramatic results. My second fabric could be a little darker to create a better sense of movement in my block. However, the greyscale in the block pattern shows the movement really well.
This classic nine-patch construction let’s you mix and match this block easily with so many other blocks! I can’t wait to see what you make with the Swirl block.
