This week in the Modern Quilt Block Series we are sewing Three Squared – there are nine small squares within the block. And a great opportunity to strip piece! Be sure to watch the video for all my tips and tricks.

Three Squared

I wrote the pattern with the dark fabric surrounding the small squares, but you could invert the color placement if you like. If that is your plan, I suggest a scrappy mix of low volume fabrics to add depth and dimension to your quilt.

In the video I ha e tips for strip piecing, working with small pieces, and my favorite stitch length. The video is a little longer than usual, hopefully you find it helpful!

What do you think of the negative space layout options? I’d love your feedback as I continue to design for the series.

This week the Thee Squared block is free, next week it will be available for purchase in my shop.

I love this block , the great options, and the different layouts. You give a lot of ideas to make it my own but then I seem to always love your choices.
