This week in the Modern Quilt Block Series we are sewing up the Woven block. The angles in this block create a square and fantastic layout options. Follow along as I continue designing and sharing a new block pattern each week!
Woven
Don’t stress out over those angles – I’m not going to make you cut them! To keep this block simple, I’ve cut rectangles and added the angle at the sewing machine. Creating interest without overwhelm is always welcome in our quilting projects!
Take a few minutes to watch the video for my simple construction tips, and step-by-step instructions for making this unique block. And the layout options are so fun! Even on its own, this block makes some great quilt tops, and I can’t wait to see more of them in fabric!

I got here unexpectedly and not looking for a quilt pattern. I decided to watch it anyway. I wanted to comment. One reason I loved this pattern video is that you showed several different ways of using the block. I LOVE that! I did think a quilt with all blocks the same would be a bit busy, especially for an unknown child (thinking autism). I like both of the alternates you showed and the idea of using a limited colour pallette. Thanks. I will check some of your other quilt ideas as well.
