This week in the Modern Quilt Block Series we are going to sew up a block I called Double Time. Using Half-Square Triangle units to create movement in your quilts doesn’t have to be overwhelming. I like to think – a little goes a long way, and with these results I think you’ll agree!

Double Time

HST units have been used in quilts for many generations. This means there are so many different ways to make them, I’ve tried lots of them and I’m sharing my favorite tried-and-true method in the video.

Do you have a favorite layout option? Let me know which one in the comments. Have you made a quilt with negative space in it? As I mentioned in the video, using negative space in your quilt can be a great way to showcase your skills without piecing a ton of blocks.

This week the Double Time block is free, next week it will be available for purchase in my shop.

Pin now, sew later

Save to your favorite quilting boards for inspiration when you need it!
