The graphic look of this block makes it a great addition to many quilt layouts, and it’s fun to sew! Explore the layout options in the video for a few color variations too. This version I’ve made is a jumping-off point for all the creative ways you can use this block. The layout options are really fun for this simple block!

Honest truth, I’ve had this block in my files since the beginning. I overlooked it many times as “too simple” but when I finally put it in some quilts – I love the outcomes! Which goes to show that even this simplest blocks can be interesting in your quilt tops, with a little time to explore and have fun in the process. You never know until you try!
