This week in the Modern Quilt Block Series we are sewing up the Star block. This traditional block can be used with so many of the blocks in the series for a great modern look! Follow along as I continue designing and sharing a new block pattern each week!
Star
The first steps in making this block include making flying geese units. I’m sharing my favorite way to make four units at one time in the video. There’s less waste than other methods and it feels like magic – I hope you will give it a try!
After that, making the block is a quick and fun process! Pull out your favorite color of fabric to get started.
In the video I walk you through the simple construction of this block. Including the pressing directions to make a quilt full of stars and nested seams. Thinking ahead is my specialty!
