This week in the Modern Quilt Block Series we are sewing the Fence block. This bold and graphic block is great for all the fabric you don’t want to cut too small, and showcase in your quilts. Follow along as I continue designing and sharing a new block pattern each week!
Fence
The graphic look of this block makes it a great addition to many quilt layouts, and it’s fun to sew! Check out the layout options in the video for color variations too. This version I’ve made is a jumping off point for all the creative ways you can use this block. However, be sure to test your 1/4″ seam allowance before starting. Because all the piecing is in the same direction a rectangular block is a real possibility.
