Now is when all of our Modern Patchwork quilt-along preparations are going to pay off! It’s time to sew, and hopefully, you’ve cut all your fat quarters and have stacks of strips and squares waiting to be sewn.

If you haven’t yet, now is the time to verify that your seam allowance is resulting in an accurate 1/4″, by measuring the results. My video walks you through the entire process no matter how basic or fancy your sewing machine is.

Modern Patchwork Quilt-Along

Depending on the quilt size you decided to make, you will have a group of strips to sew together in pairs. Double-check the number of segments to be cut in your pattern, and follow along with me as I sew, and cut and sew some more in this video!

In the video, I’ve included tips for keeping your segments nice and square, and what to do when it’s not. And tips for pressing the seam allowances open, and pinning for matching points in your four-patch units.

I’m excited to see your four-patch units come together. Now that we are sewing you will see lots of progress in your blocks week to week. Yay!

As always, the videos will be here when you are ready to sew along.
